Electron-electron scattering and conductivity of disordered systems with a Galilean-invariant spectrum

چکیده

The electron--electron scattering does not affect the electrical current in Galilean--invariant systems. We show that nevertheless collisions may contribute to electric resistivity of systems with parabolic spectrum provided they have multiply connected Fermi surface and there is an additional mechanism scattering. To this end, we calculate a two-dimensional electron gas two filled transverse subbands presence impurity Though between electrons do directly such systems, cause redistribution contours, which results noticeable change for realistic mechanisms

Electron-electron Relaxation in Disordered Interacting Systems

We study the relaxation of a non-equilibrium carrier distribution under the influence of the electron-electron interaction in the presence of disorder. Based on the Anderson model, our Hamiltonian is composed from a single particle part including the disorder and a two-particle part accounting for the Coulomb interaction. We apply the equation-of-motion approach for the density matrix, which pr...

Electron–phonon scattering in disordered metallic films

The quantum interference between ‘pure’ electron–phonon and electron-boundary/impurity scattering drastically changes the electron–phonon relaxation rate. If impurities and boundaries vibrate in the same way as the host lattice, the electron–phonon relaxation rate is significantly decreased. In the presence of the scattering potential that does not vibrate with phonons (e.g. rigid boundaries, i...

Electron–electron scattering and thermal conductivity of ε-iron at Earth’s core conditions

The electronic state and transport properties of hot dense iron are of the utmost importance for the understanding of Earth’s interior. Combining state-of-the-art density functional and dynamicalmean field theories we study the impact of electron correlations on the electrical and thermal resistivity of hexagonal close-packed ò-Fe at Earth’s core conditions and show that the electron–electron s...

Inelastic Electron Lifetime in Disordered Mesoscopic Systems

Inelastic quasiparticle lifetime due to the electron-electron interaction (outscattering time in the kinetic equation formalism) is calculated for finite metallic diffusive systems (quantum dots) in the whole range of parameters. Both cases of “continuous” (the inelastic level broadening much exceeds the mean level spacing) and “discrete” spectrum are analyzed. In particular, crossover between ...
